The Pointe-Claire Canoe Club offers children and adults the opportunity to enjoy Pointe-Claire's beautiful waterfront. The club has a wide variety of canoes and kayaks from sleek lightweight racing boats to pleasure canoes, a variety of sea-kayaks, a dragon boat and one for canoe polo. The club provides excellent summer and winter programs with nationally qualitifed coaches.

2009 Club's results

During 2009, the Pointe-Claire Canoe Club has further improved its performance through participation and great efforts. The club reached several important achievements this season:

Three athletes, Andrew Willows, Thomas Hall and Pierre-Luc Laliberté participated in the European Tour of the National Team (Poznan & Szeged).

Philippe Duchesneau finished 2nd in K-4 at the Pan-Ams held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Two athletes participated in the Junior World Cup held in Moscow, Russia (Marc Tarling & Martin Héroux).

Senior World Championships - Nova Scotia

  • Andrew Willows won the bronze medal in K-2 200 m
  • Thomas Hall finished 5th in C-4 1000 m
  • Christine Gauthier won the 1st race at the World Championship for athletes with physical disabilities.

Seven athletes of the club participated in the Canada Games held at Prince Edward Island.

Canadian Championships - Sherbrooke

  • 7th position at the Canadian Championship, as well as the pennant, Men Junior category.
  • We also won 6 gold medals, 10 silver medals and 4 bronze medals.

PCCC finished in 1st place overall at the Provincial Championships.

  • 15 athletes on the Quebec Team (13 in 2007 and 15 in 2008).
  • 3 athletes on the National Team and 2 athletes on the Development Team under 23 years old.
