The first owner of this land, after 1698, was Pierre Sauvé dit Laplante. He and his wife sold it to John DuTartre dit Desrosiers in 1700. In 1706, the land was ceded to Madeleine Lemoyne, a widow who owned the neighboring land. She, in turn, sold lots 154-D and 155-D to Antoine Pilon, who built the house. In 1729, Pilon's widow, Marie-Anne Brunet, sold "...a lot in Pointe-Claire, with a small house and a barn..." to their son, Mathieu. The Pilon family kept the land until 1826. Among the various owners who followed from 1873 to 1921 was the Valois family; the Valois neighbourhood is named after one of its members, Alexandre.

Antoine-Pilon House |
n 1968, André Charbonneau acquired the property and, in the late 1970s, undertook its restoration. However, it was in such bad shape that it required demolition, and was then reconstructed using some of the original materials, along with others from demolition yards. The pièce sur pièce,or stacked-timber, house measures 25 x 23 feet. There is a perpendicular addition, 18 x 20 feet, conceived in the style of the original building. Uncovering the wall surfaces allowed the original placement of the main entrance to be re-established and the fireplace restored along with its bread oven, which had fallen into disuse. The 45-degree roof, with jutting drip moulding indicates a modification dating from the 1850s. The present owner has restored what was presumed to be the original slope of the roof and recovered it with cedar shingles. The house is faced with roughcast, and vertical pine boards have been placed over the extension's facade.
