Renovations to the main ice surface at the Bob-Birnie Arena began May 1 with the demolition of the hockey boards and glass as seen below.

With the cement slab, refrigeration and heating systems removed, the first step to the reconstruction phase is the levelling of the surface and the addition of a compact layer of sand. |
