Granting of permits

The Public Security Division is in charge of granting the following permits:
  • Permits for parking and using the boat launching ramp at Alexandre-Bourgeau Park
Every year around mid-March, a restricted number of permits go on sale at the Public Security Division (399 Saint-Jean Boulevard, open 24 hours). The priority is given to Pointe-Claire residents; however, in order to avoid any disappointment, we recommend that residents purchase their permit without delay before they are sold out for the year.
The car registration for the vehicle which will be used, and a proof of residence with photo (ex. driver’s license) are required to obtain a permit (maximum one permit per household).  Please note that, should the car registration show that the vehicle is registered under a Company’s name, an official letter on the Company’s letterhead will be required, stating that the resident is the only person authorized to drive the vehicle in question.

After a certain date, any remaining permits (if any) will become available to non Pointe-Claire residents, at a higher cost, on a first-come-first-served basis.  Absolutely no reservation taken.

For more details concerning the permits (cost for the season, date the permits will go on sale), check the WHAT’S NEW on the City’s web site in February and March, or call 514-630-1234.

Please take note that the City of Pointe-Claire does not guarantee that a parking space will be available to all permit holders, at all times. The responsibility to legally park his/her vehicle remains that of the permit holder.
