LE SPECTACLE DE L’ARBRE
Des mots d’la dynamite. In French, for 18 months to 3 year olds. Developed for very young audiences with the collaboration of educators and children from a Montreal daycare centre, Scenes from a Tree is a herbarium made of sensations inspired by the four seasons. Three half-tree, half-fairy women with an uncanny talent for arts and crafts celebrate the passing of time and ties we weave through it. While the human voice is the work’s driving force, wool and needlework are the main materials of its visual landscape as well as the thread that connects the stories, songs, and nursery rhymes to the manipulation of objects from daily life. The show pays tribute to daily life, with its small losses and big discoveries.  Presented with the financial support of the Conseil des arts de Montréal en tournée.

Tuesday, March 6, 1:30 p.m., in Dorval

L’EXPÉDITION DE LA RYTHMOBILE

Les Jeunesses Musicales du Canada. In French, for 6 to 12 year olds.  The Rhythmobile, a super-powered, all-terrain, hybrid vehicle has unfortunately run out of gas. Pataques, the Rhythmobile’s clumsy driver, and his tinkering mechanic, Patatras, have had to swerve off to the side of the road in a panic. To make things even more complicated, the technologically sophisticated 4X4 can’t even get going without the right kind of very high rhythm-rated fuel. In an unknown land, who knows if any fuel can be found? Time is running out. Before falling too far behind in the rally race, our two adventurers immediately begin searching for their precious fuel: rhythm. Part of Music Week

Saturday, March 10, 2:00 p.m., in Kirkland

LE VOYAGE
Théàtre de l’Avant Pays. In French, for 5 to 9 year olds. A child and his mother are walking across mountains in Japan to reach a town. The child is furious with his mother. He did not want to go to Japan. And now, they’re in the middle of nowhere, without resources, and their survival depends on this exhausting journey for the child. His mother, to give him courage, tells him three stories. Speaking of love, of perseverance and of patience, these stories will help him not only to walk in the cold and in the dark, but will also help him to face his fears and to prepare for the new life that awaits both of them. Presented with the financial support of the Conseil des arts de Montréal en tournée.

Pointe-Claire

GINKGO ET LA
JARDINIÈRE

Théâtre Bouches Décousues, co-produced with Théâtre Maât
In French, for children 4 years and older.
A gardener lives under an old tree, a ginkgo biloba. In her own whimsical, jolly way, she tends to her seeds, plants and seedlings, as well as the egg she has been growing.  She harvests words and musical notes, cares for her old friend Ginkgo and calls on the wind, the rain and the sun. She acts as a bridge between seasons and generations. At the end of summer, she will witness the birth of a baby Ginkgo who will soon take the place of her old friend. Presented with the financial support of the Conseil des arts de Montréal en tournée.

Venue: : John Rennie High School, 501 Saint-Jean Blvd, Pointe-Claire, 514-630-1220
