Lifesaving Society First Aid courses:
Not just for lifeguards anymore


We are now offering the new Lifesaving Society General First Aid course to members of the community. This comprehensive course has been reformatted to meet the needs of the general public and we are very excited to be able to extend this course to you.

General First Aid includes:
  • 2005 CPR Guidelines from the Heart and Stroke Foundation (Level "C" CPR)
  • Extensive first aid review and practice
  • 16-hour course with flexible scheduling options
  • 3-year certification
  • Take-home materials: Lifesaving Society First Aid & CPR Manual, and certification card
  • Target population: Community organizations, students, citizens, teachers, lifeguards, border guards, etc.

  • Adult, child and infant CPR/choking and defibrillation
  • Anatomy and physiology
  • Legal aspects during an intervention
  • How to contact the emergency medical system
  • Primary and secondary survey
  • Shock and fainting
  • Heart attack and stroke

Heart and Stroke Foundation Emergency
First Aid Course 

The perfect course for any organization! This course is designed to meet your needs.
Choose any CPR level from the Heart and Stroke Foundation and pair it with the first aid portion to create a course that works for you.

Emergency First Aid includes:

  • 2005 CPR Guidelines from the Heart and Stroke Foundation (Levels A, A+, C or F)
  • Basic first aid review and practice
  • 8-hour course with flexible scheduling options
  • 3-year certification
  • Take-home materials: Heart and Stroke Foundation First Aid & CPR Manual, and certification card
  • Target population: Community organizations, citizens, individuals, parents, day care employees, etc.

Red Cross Child Care Emergency First Aid & CPR Course
 

 

Emergency Child Care First Aid includes:
  • 2005 First Aid & CPR Guidelines
  • 8-hour course with flexible scheduling options
  • 3-year certification
  • Includes CPR Level B (baby, child, adult) and an AED certification 
  • Take-home materials: Red Cross Child Care First Aid & CPR Manual, certification card
  • Target population: Teachers, parents, day care workers, members of the community.

Babysitting Course

“Because caring for children is more than just child's play”

As parents of young children, has your favourite babysitter taken a Canadian Red Cross Babysitting Course?

If you're an adolescent of 11 years old or older and you've decided to become a babysitter; are you prepared for this important responsibility?
