Aid for Seniors

For over twenty years, Pointe-Claire has offered free indoor and outdoor home maintenance services to seniors year-round, providing they meet the following conditions:

1. Resident of Pointe-Claire;

2. Age 65 or over: For spouses or seniors living together. Proof of age (such as birth certificate, passport or driver's licence) is required;

3. Your income:
For those living in an apartment:
a. If you live alone: Your annual income should not exceed $26 200.
b. If you live with your spouse or with another senior: Your combined annual income should not exceed $31 550.

For those living in a house:
a. If you live alone: Your annual income should not exceed $28 400.
b. If you live with your spouse or with another senior: Your combined annual income should not exceed $33 600.

The required proof of income is the Notice of Assessment for your 2009 federal income tax return.

N.B.: Seniors who share accommodations with family members or persons other than those mentioned above are not eligible.

(We reserve the right to cancel the service should your domestic or financial situation change).
 
Our staff is available to do:

  • Light housework and general yard maintenance;
  • Snow shovelling - paths only
  • This service is only offered after school or early evening when students are finished classes.

All work is done under YOUR SUPERVISION

These services are provided free
of charge by a team of mature
reliable employees, fully aware of
the need to protect their client's
privacy.

Jobs are available throughout the year. We are looking for employees who are: hardworking, reliable, responsible, honest, cheerful, flexible and community-oriented. Employees are selected following a thorough interview and reference check.
