How to obtain a certificate of authorization for landscaping work on riverside land





Although the information regarding by-laws is updated on a regular basis, we encourage you to contact our department to ensure that no recent modifications have been made.



The following are considered landscaping work:

  • The building or the modification of a wall; 
  • The excavation or modification of the level of a landsite by backfill or earth moving; 
  • The felling of a tree with a trunk more 30 centimetres (1 foot) in diameter; 
  • The creation or extension of a parking area;
  • Widening or reducing the witdth of a driveway.
