How to obtain a building permit for an ancillary building


Although the information regarding by-laws is updated on a regular basis, we encourage you to contact our department to ensure that no recent modifications have been made.

CHECKLIST

To submit a permit request for an ancillary building, you will need to show:

  1. Certificate of location with location of proposed building and dimensions
  2. Distances from property lines, house, pool, other ancillary buildings
  3. If prefabricated building: manufacturer’s specifications on the model (showing height, facing materials, etc.) – details on foundation/slab
  4. If new construction: detailed construction plans, structural details, roof, foundation/slab, height, facing materials, etc.
  5. Any servitude
