Garage sales

A certificate of autorization is not required for a garage sale.

Garage sales are permitted in all residential zones subject to the following conditions:

  • Garage sales shall not be permitted except for single-family, duplex or triplex dwellings,
  • Only two garage sales shall be permitted per dwelling per year,
  • The sale shall be operated by the occupant of the dwelling,
  • The sale shall not last more than one day, and shall not be held other than between 8.00 AM and 6.00 PM.

Signs permitted in all zones

l) Temporary signs for garage sales, with an area not exceeding 0.5 m2 (5.4 sq.ft.), provided there is no more than two (2) such signs per garage sale and provided they are removed on the day of the garage sale, after such sale is terminated.
