ACTIVITIES AT THE POINTE-CLAIRE CULTURAL CENTRE, STEWART HALL
GUIDED TOUR: Pointe-Claire: A Village, A City Come and discover the history of Pointe-Claire. A private shuttle will take you on a journey through the different areas of the city. Stories, anecdotes and legends with complete historical information will be provided. Get to know the various phases of the development of Pointe-Claire: from rural parish and summer resort of yesteryear to the modern urban centre of today. Pointe-Claire is a suburban city that has nevertheless kept its village charm. Its numerous parks and beautiful shores of Lake Saint-Louis that border its territory, splendid architectural treasures and the strong community spirit of its residents, all contribute to the warm characteristics of a village.

GUIDED TOURS OF HISTORICAL STEWART HALL You are invited to visit this beautiful building built in 1916 and located on the banks of Lake Saint Louis. Discover the history of the property and the people who built and lived in this magnificent house. Let yourself be inspired by the determination of the people who saved it from demolition and gave it a new life. In fact, Stewart Hall became Pointe-Claire’s Cultural Centre in 1963 and has since then been the focal point of the cultural life of the community holding regular concerts, performances and cultural workshops. Stewart Hall’s Art Gallery is located on the 3rd floor. The 2nd floor houses the Reading and Documentation Room, as well as the Art Rental Boutique.

CINÉ-ART : GHOSTS OF GRIFFINTOWN Discover the rich historical past of Montreal`s Griffintown with special guest local author/filmmaker Richard Burman. Burman will present Ghosts of Griffintown, a documentary on this haunting, historic area established in 1654. The product of five years of research and numerous interviews with former Griffintowners, this is a fascinating documentary about a community with its share of saints and sinners (as well as floods and fires). Not to be missed!
