SATURDAY, OCTOBER 1
EXHIBITION FOR YOUTH:  Carving Safari!
Come explore a wild animal safari (elephants, rhinoceroses, leopards, lions, bisons) from South Africa and carved by hand in jade (also called butter jade) and verdite (a 3500 million year-old green stone from Africa).  Locate these same animals in the magnificent Keiskamma wall hanging also on display. SUNDAY OCTOBER 2
GUIDED TOUR: Pointe-Claire: A Village, A City
Discover the history of Pointe-Claire. A private shuttle will take you on a journey through various neighbourhoods in the city. Through stories, anecdotes and legends intertwined with historical information, you will be introduced to the various phases of the development of Pointe-Claire over the past 100 years. Evolving over the past 100 years from rural parish and summer resort to modern urban centre, Pointe-Claire has succeeded in maintaining its village charm with numerous parks, splendid architectural treasures and strong community spirit.

WORKSHOP: Carve your Own Safari
With Linda Liu, discover the carvings displayed in the Exhibition for Youth “Carving Safari!” and carve your own favourite wild animal out of soapstone.  For children 7 years and up. Bilingual.
2:00 to 4:00 p.m. (Free admission)


DEMO-WORKSHOP: POÉCIRQUE
POÉCIRQUE is a new street circus company that blends circus and poetry. They offer us a participatory performance between 1:00 and 2:00 p.m., followed by circus workshops from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., using the following disciplines: hula-hoop, rola-bola and juggling.  For adults and children 6 years and over.
